Bollywood is known for making the most movies in India. It is the most flourishing business industry and has some of the notable actors we all love and adore. While this is the overview of the industry, the truth is that in the past only songs were copied, whereas now, even movies are copied, but they are called inspired to make it sound subtle.

Dhadak is a Bollywood movie that is a 100% copy of the Marathi movie 'Sairat' and while neither the trailer nor the songs of the Bollywood movie are impressive enough, we take a look at 5 movies that Bollywood should never try to create (or copy) from regional cinema:

5 Fandry (Marathi)

Sairat and Fandry both are directed by Nagrarth Manjule and are based on  the same concept, but the difference is that Sairat is based out of college, while Fandry is based on school. It also showcases some of the most terrific performances by new actors.

It must be called Mr. Manjule's class that he gets newcomers perform some of the best work with so much ease and still leave an impact.

4 Court (Marathi)

Court is a movie that showcases the troubles, trials and tribulations people face in the legal system. The movie showcased a folk singer, who is accused of encouraging a manhole worker to commit suicide. The movie is a pure gem and despite having non actors and non-professionals it still won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film at the 62nd National Film Awards.

This movie showcases why Marathi Cinema is way ahead of Bollywood.

3 Punjab 1984 (Punjabi)

We all know what Punjab went through in 1984. It was the most horrendous acts of genocide that occurred on the land of 5 rivers. The movie showcases what happened during those days and how people were forced to go to different ways of getting freedom even if it meant taking law into their own hands.

Diljit Dosanjh and Sonam Bajwa are great in the film, and Kirron Kher is superb. There are no words to describe how amazing this movie is. Go watch it and you can thank us later.

2 Visaranai (Tamil)

This movie was India's official entry into the Oscars. Do we need to say anything more?

The aforementioned statement is enough to say what this movie will be like. Based on the book Lockup which was written by a man out of these 4 depicted in the poster as he was released in time and alive. The movie talks about what it is like to be caught in a different land, speaking a different language and the police's way of functioning.

This movie is a must watch.

1 Pather Panchali

I can never be in any position to talk about this gem by Satyajit Ray. The movie inspires Hollywood to this day and they still want to learn more about the art of storytelling and movie/cinematic experience through this.

Now, these are 5 gems that I hope Bollywood never recreates, because the original will always be better than Bollywood's Melodramatic way of showcasing great films.

Sairat, as Dhadak, you have our sympathies.
