'Bala': A saga of plagiarization
Ayushmann Khurrana has been in the news for all the good and bad reasons lately. The trailer of 'Article 15' was recently launched and lauded by the fans, but before the praises could start, the news of plagiarism started doing rounds for the Vicky Donor actor.
The actor was loved for his work in Bareilly Ki Barfi, and the announcement of the movie 'Bala' was done with all fanfare on YouTube. With the recent work by the actor, the fans were looking forward to the movie and the news of the filming. Little did they know that the movie was actually a plagiarised version of Kamal Kant Chandra's script.
According to the claims, the writer had registered the script with the Screen Writers Association in 2016, and then the communication with the actor came into existence. After the discussion, there were fewer to no discussions about the movie, before Maddock Films decided to join hands with Amar Kaushik (Stree fame) to bring this movie to the forefront. The script was then registered by the writers in 2018. While the overall story and the discussions around the same may raise concerns, the original writer has filed a complaint with the police for action.
The fact that Bala's team has already started shooting during the Court's Summer Vacation raises more questions and adds legitimacy to Mr. Chandra's claims. According to the information available from reliable sources, the affidavit provided by Ayushmann's legal team confirms that they require more time in writing before the movie hits the floors. If the aforementioned is true, how and why did the team behind Bala start shooting instantly during Court's summer vacation?
While this question needs answering, the fact that the Dum Laga Ke Haisha actor is involved in every step of the way, can't be ruled out. The fact that the actor was involved during the preliminary meetings with Mr. Chandra is known to the public. Also, it has been confirmed that the Vicky Donor actor was involved in the meeting between Maddock Films and the new writer.
Along with the aforementioned, we have already stated that Mr. Khurrana confirmed that he was involved in conversations with the writer. If the court hasn't provided a stay, it hasn't also provided the authority to the actor and the production house to commence shootings. This is in direct violation of the law and also disregarding the law enforcement authorities. Can Mr. Khurrana and the team at the production house confirm why did they start shooting during the court summer vacation?
It's about time that people with good public image, and power stop misusing their authority to cause distress to the people that have worked all this while to provide something entertaining to the fans.
The production house should understand that their name is getting spoiled and rotted due to this plagiarization row caused by the Bareilly Ki Barfi actor. They should do what's right to at least start off a chain of good behavior in the industry that is the most respected amongst its fans.
We at The Mis Studio hope that Mr. Khurrana will also do the right thing so that the fans get something worthwhile to watch in the cinema halls. Let's do things that are a win-win for all, not the other way around.
