The Constitution of India clearly states that we are all equal, but despite that being the first line in the abiding document at all times, we as Indians are always divided by our religion, and location. It's no wonder that we take pride in being a Marathi, Bihari, or something else, before being an Indian. Religion has broken us more than uniting us, and that isn't the only reason why we take immense pride in being segregated by our castes more than the work.
In North India, and overall in the country, people are addressed as Shukla Ji, Pandit Ji, or even at times Kanyakubj among others. This casteism has plagued us more than plague actually could. Article 15 looks into this aspect of our being, and how we put caste over other things, including our duty.
The trailer was captivating, and the tale was based on true events that took place in U.P. sometime back. A lot is happening in the country, and people are facing the wrath of beef, caste, and other aspects. There was a recent video that surfaced via Twitter User Zainab Sikander where she showcased how in 2019, we are still stuck to our old mindset.
Article 15 movie trailer raises questions on the legal, feudal, patriarchal, and social issues that we are tainted with as a society. While the movie is based on facts and true events, one needs to take time and ponder over why in the age when we are shooting for the moon, the pseudo minds still continue to rot us. Better prevent and prepare, than repent and repair in the long run.
