3 movies that confirm Balraj Sahni is the best in Bollywood

Balraj Sahni is the most loved actor of B-town. He is an actor that gave the most amazing performances on the silver screen. His work is applauded by all, and all film buffs and enthusiasts know who he was and what his work meant for the film industry.

Over the years a lot of actors including Amitabh Bachchanand Aamir Khan have appreciated his work and sung accolades of his work but none of them have got the impact or fan connect that Balraj Sahni enjoys till this day. His work was class apart and if you pick 3, 5, 10 or more films of this great actor, you would find it difficult to get a flaw in his work. No matter how many movies we talk about nothing matches the legend and his work.

In this article, I talk about 3 movies that confirm why Balraj Sahni is a legend:

#3 Waqt

With an ensemble cast including Sunil Dutt, Raj Kumar, Shashi Kapoor, Sadhana, Balraj Sahni, Madan Puri, Sharmila Tagore, Achala Sachdev and Rehman this movie is a classic that was produced by B. R. Chopra. The movie got the top spot during 1965 box office collection.

The story revolved around a man whose life turns upside down in a matter of moments due to an earthquake and how he lives his life through hardships to finally meet his children.

The work by Balraj Sir will give you goose bumps.

#2 Do Bigha Zamin

Do Bigha Zamin is directed by Bimal Roy and the story revolves around a farmer, Shambu Mahato, who lives with his wife Parvati and son Kanhaiya  in a small village that has been hit badly by a famine. After years of drought, the region finally gets rain, leading the farmers to rejoice.

Shambu owns two bighas of land, which is the only means of livelihood for the whole family. The local zamindar (landlord) Thakur Harnam Singh partners with some city businessmen to construct a mill on his large parcel of land, which in return would bring them profit and bring prosperity to the village. The only problem is that in the middle of Harnam singh's land lie Shambu's meager two bighas of land.

The trials and tribulations of what goes around is the best thing you will see on screen and Balraj Sir's performance will leave you spellbound.

#1 Garm Hawa

Arguably the best movie about India’s Independence and the troubles people went through, the movie is also the best performance by any actor in a movie. There are performers, there are actors, and then there’s Balraj Sahni. Nothing matches to his work that is showcasing the feelings of a man who is losing things but is still trying to keep things intact.

The loss of her daughter, the son being unemployed and brother leaving India has a lot of emotions, but the great legend keeps it so simple yet so powerful at the same time.

If you still haven’t watched this, please do, or you would miss out on brilliance.
