After 'Ramayan' These 5 shows should re-run during this Lockdown

And we are back!

Well, we at The Mis Studio understand that our dear readers would have wanted their hands at some amazing content, but due to our continuous busy schedules, it was difficult to share something worth your time, dear reader. The wait is finally over, and we are back with many more of these to follow in days, months, and years to come.

The nationwide lockdown has got us stuck in the place where we are, and while OTT platforms have seen a rise in their viewership, the same can't be said for other TV programs because the constant devotion to see the television has gone away. In comes, 'Ramayan' and the country is hooked to the show that was a part of their memory growing up. I have seen people worship Arun Govil and Deepika for portraying these characters in the 90s, and even today they bind us all together.

The same could be said for the first few years of Kaun Banega Crorepati, but with the advent of technology, and the ability to watch or stream TV anywhere, the show didn't have the same impact as it does during this testing time worldwide. Ramayan is what bonded us then, and it does today as well as there no serials that match it on the religious aspect. While a lot of shows of the same name have been aired over the years none of them came close to this original one, or may I say in this case the marketing term, 'first move advantage.'

Despite not so advanced VFX, or any other medium in this show, the show has always hit fans' religious sentiment, and this was one of the shows where the director would talk to the audience as well which can be considered it USP as everything in the world revolves around it.

With Ramayan show seeing some good days in the modern-day and age it inspired to think of some shows that would still be lauded, in case they have a re-run today. It is with this in mind that I list them for your reading pleasure and welcome your thoughts in the comments section for the readers' kind perusal. So without further ado, let's get down to it:

#1 Flop Show

This is one show that had a satirical take along with the comedy on the events that were happening at that point in time. The fact that the episodes of this show are relevant to this day tells you about what a master creator the Late Great Jaspal Bhatti Ji was on his views about the state of affairs. His show was a rampant hit amongst the fans and is still relevant. The re-run of this show will be way better than seeing a comedy show on the weekends where the presenter does slapstick comedy and only takes a jibe at his co-actors and insult fans thereby later apologizing that the intent was funny. On the contrary, Jaspal Ji's show doesn't insult anyone but let's you laugh your heart out and for genuine reasons instead of a joke on someone's body structure or a woman who wants to seek the love of someone who has so interest in him. Isn't that demeaning 'Women's Respect' in the name of comedy? Think again.

#2 Dekh Bhai Dekh

Dekh Bhai Dekh cast: Then and Now

While this is another sitcom it isn't satirical but it has a lasting impact and some of the best days on television were spent watching this show. It would be a great way to spend our evenings watching this show that aired for some time before it was back in the box. It can lift your spirit and make you fall in love with the idiotbox as well. The show was loved by the fans but it didn't run for a longer time but a re-run can be done even in this day and age and one wouldn't skip a beat watching it.

#3 Shrimaan Shrimati

Shrimaan Shrimati is a show that has been blantly copied in the &TV's famous show 'Bhabhi Ji Ghar Par Hain' but it's about time that the current show goes off the air. The fact that you have a lack of script and have episodes where a man needs to be married to a buffalo, or even do stupid acts doesn't make way for fun. The ongoing irrelevant romantic angle between Pandit Ramfal and his supposed love interest in Fuljhadi is not funny at all. A mad man constantly saying 'I Like It' on being slapped or any form that is not right is pathetic in every sense. On the contrary, they do have a show 'Happu ki Ultan Paltan' which has sense in their storytelling.

Shrimaan Shrimati was a comical take on people eyeing their neighbor's wife for attention and it went well with the audience then so it will be good today too. This was a great show, unlike their plagiarized show and if a re-run does happen people will see a young Rakesh Bedi Sir, than the one he plays in the plagiarized 'Bhabhi Ji Ghar par Hain.' It would help us get rid of the same old 'Sahi Pakde Hain' for every apparent reason, and the baseless effort of making an attempt to speak English only to say the same phrase over.

#4 Tehkikaat

Even before CID took center stage and ran for a long duration, Tehkikaat was the show that started it all in the TV industry. The show starred Vijay Anand (the brother of the legendary Dev Anand) as Sam D'Silva while Saurabh Shukla played Gopichand in the show. This show paved the way for more thrillers on TV and over the years there has been an influx of them on TV with almost every channel doing a show of the same genre.

Vijay Anand directed some of the classics that we have seen over the years and the legend was amazing in front of it as well. It would be a visual treat to see it on TV again after so many years.

#5 Space City Sigma

Were you expecting the 'Gangadhar hi Shaktimaan hai' here, but that isn't the same it seems. This science fiction show aired during the 80's and would be a great way to showcase the creative prowess of the Indian minds from the 80's and 90's. We are so glued to the Iron Man and Avengers as well as so many other things in this day and age, but wouldn't it be amazing  if they got to know who gave them the idea.

I could reveal the entire story of this show here, but it would be good if you watch it on your streaming platform or YouTube to see how we paved the way for something in the science fiction division way before it became famous.
