6 shows from the 90s that are still etched in our memories

Ah, those were the 90's my friend!

Do I sound nostalgic or too obsessed with the work done during the 90's? Well, whatever that may be one thing is for sure that these days there are shows that are created just to generate revenue and just promote other shows of the channel among other things. Some have irrelevant and over-hyped content while some fail to impress since their get go.

Not all have the ability to keep fans intact like the shows in the 90's did, and when I say this, I don't discount any effort put by different teams to pull off a show. What I neccessary mean is the taste of the audience that is so involved in meta-physical shows like 'Naagin' and 'Daayan' as well as slap-stick comedy like 'The Kapil Sharma Show.'

Along with the aforementioned there are various shows that need to dive deep to understand how and why these shows from the 90's still rule the hearts:

1) Shrimaan-Shrimati

So let's start with something funny, Shrimaan-Shrimati was the comedy show that worked on the concept of what 'Bhabhi Ji Ghar par hain' works on. The show is a classic and has Jatin Kanakia, Reema Lagoo, Archana Puran Singh and Rakesh Bedi in pivotal roles. The show paved way for some great comedy shows in time, but there's this lovely chemistry and presentation about the show that can never be forgotten.

2) Malgudi Days

The show was considered to be a classic and is based on the work by R.K. Narayan of the same name. Based on his work, the show showed various stories, and kept people glued to their TV screens as the writing of the great one was put to visual experience for the masses, and was highly appreciated.

3) Movers and Shakers

The first talk show on Indian soil that had an essence of the west was Movers and Shakers where the host Shekhar Suman would talk to guests on a wide variety of topics and create fun moments for all. The experience was great and made people ROFL as Shekhar's wittiness mixed with the guest's response really made everything wonderful.

4) Flop Show

Contrary to its name, Flop Show was a massive hit between fans from the get go, and took a satirical take on everything happening around us, especially the government departments. The impeccable comic timing of Jaspal Bhatti and his fellow performers would leave your ROFL, and if you don't believe me, watch this first episode and share your views.

5) Sea Hawks

Sea Hawks was a TV series that was showcased during the 90's on DD National, and was shot on land, air and water. The show was an instant hit and focused on the work of the coast guard. In the show, you would see Milind Soman and R. Madhavan among a host of other performers.

Time to go for a visit down memory lane.

6) Tehkikaat

Most of us believe that C.I.D. was the first interrogation based or may I say crime based show, but the fact remains that there were many that were on TV before C.I.D. even aired, and all of that started with Tehkikaat. The show showed Vijay Anand (A great director and Brother of Late Dev Anand) and Saurabh Shukla in pivotal roles. With the sense of style and working during the 90's this show was loved by people back in the day.
