5 reasons why Soorma could have been told better

Soorma was a movie that released last week and we had the opportunity to review it.

Now before you start praising us for our delay, let me put it through that I was completely tied up and didn't want to come up with a review that would be based on people's reaction, not mine.

So without taking much time, lets dig to business and tell you why Soorma is a story told in a half cooked way:

5 Taapsee is always crying

Be it the scenes where she moves away from Diljit to help him become better or the scene where the strict coach finds out it was Sandeep calling her, she seems to be constantly in tears. There are hardly some moments when you would see her smile.

With that I am not questioning her acting prowess, but I am asking about the representation of the character that is the narrator and also the powerhouse in Sandeep's life.

4 The 3 L's: Love, Leave and Live

At first the main leads fall in love and then she leaves to make Sandeep a better person and towards the end it sounded like a 90's movie wherein the heroine is running and portraying it wasn't good.

The movie and the premise could have been depicted better and the entrance could have been shown better. It didn't connect and by the end it was a premise that took too much glycerine tears to end it up.

3 Run through story

If you have watched Sanju or Dangal and even Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, you would be aware that the movie is showcased in a fashion which keeps you on your toes despite reading through newspapers and online videos.

Some scenes like the discussion inside the room with the chairman and others like the one wherein Bikram(played by Angad Bedi) sounded like they are bonding together, but it didn't feel so well, like it did in the aforementioned films.

I would like to say on record that I love good work and I wouldn't mind praising some good work, while hitting hard on wrong work.

2 Unclear Movement

During the movie we see Taapsee leave tour midway to come see Diljit, but how and why did she move over to London isn't showcased clearly.

The vague turn of events and mind you weeping leaves us thinking that what made her make the move except the fact that she wanted to make Sandeep start his journey to greatness.

1 Too much thok de

Vijay Raaz is an actor that needs no introduction. His work is loved by all and he is a pro at his work, but in this movie, he had two catchy lines,'Net Faad Dega' and,'Thok De', which were a part of his characteristic.

The way Saad tried to make him a fan favorite is by giving him some dialogues that might appeal to fans and make them laugh.

Vijay Raaz is worth more and bigger. Hopefully he picks up roles that make him look amazing as a performer.
