Arvind Gaur, Prominent Director of Asmita Theatre Group


The Arvind Gaur is not just a name but a strong pillar holding the zenith of theatre from last 25 years with the BEST ( Blood Effort Sweat Tears) one can imagine. 

He started his career in early 1990s with the first crawl down the stage, emerging as a flag bearer of Indian Theatre with Bhishma Sahni's 'Hanoosh'. Just like the story of this play , he too fabricated a new era of socio-political relevant theatre movement which is still running in the veins of each and every being connected to art. His idea and wish to portray this kind of theatre began and took shape right from his childhood and upbringing. Under the guidance of Sri Habib Tanveer, following his footsteps, he pledged to put forward socio-political theatre as his weapon to try and make the world a better place to live in. 

Even in today's materialistic world, he works day and night with the same spirit, devotion, enthusiasm and passion to portray the kind of theatre , at the huge cost of ₹1. This initiative taken by him has a deep cause behind it. He has never supported commercial theatre and has always been working for those down to earth people who value and worship theatre as one of the purest art forms. According to him, the ones who are not financially sound enough to buy expensive tickets and watch plays, truly deserve the opportunity to fulfill this wish. Despite facing all kinds of obstacles, he has never failed to work for the society. He is emerging as the brightest star in the infinite sky of theatre, with hundred plays of his own!

Undoubtedly, there are infinite memoirs of his life to get inspired from, but his words of wisdom which have been perennially existing in our hearts, minds and souls are "Ek achha Insaan hi ek achha kalakaar ban sakta hai." 

And we hope to try and sustain that same zeal in our lives , no matter in which field we work in!

As a pillar that has stood strong on its grounds, Arvind ji has made significant contribution to Indian Theatre from the times of its zenith, by bringing to art values that are both priceless and timeless. As a director mentor and an absolute fine actor, Arvind Gaur ji has been the source of inspiration to many who fell deeper in love with the art of theatrics for making it a meaningful instrument in shaping society for betterment. Under his relentless tutelage, many have worked successfully towards refinement of artistic skills and achieved further a soulful purpose to deliver.
