'Dad, whose house is it?'
'Bhagwaan'
'Bhagwaan, who?'
'Allah's brother.'

In the current age and time when we are obsessed with going to a distant planet and are always connected on the go. I pondered over the question of why was this movie made in 2019. When I looked around, it took me a second to understand that cinema is the mere reflection of what happens around us. So this movie does reflect who we are and have become despite being surrounded by gadgets and hi-tech technology.

In a constantly evolving world, there is an inflow of information, and some of it could be true while some could be a mere hoax. I, for one, don't want to talk about riots and deaths that have happened in the ongoing row, within the country and worldwide.

In the age of technology, there are still a handful of people that divide us based on the caste, creed, color, and religion among a host of options. It's no wonder that one person does all the artwork in the movie, and is still on the receiving end of beating and shame due to a malign act.

While watching the trailer, I went down memory lane, where Manto's words around the partition started doing rounds in my mind. One of his notable work around the event of the name mentioned above started with,'Don't say that a lakh Hindus or Muslims died, instead say that 2 lakh humans died.' It is so true, and despite us being 70 years ahead of where we were then, the shallow minds have ruined and taken us back.

Kumud Mishra, Inaamulhaq, and Sharib Hashmi were a part of the amazing film 'Filmistaan' which released in 2012 and was directed by the 'Notebook' director Nitin Kakkar. The trio of actors mentioned in this paragraph took us on a journey filled with laughter and a message that hit hard. If you missed it, you missed a gem, and may I suggest you watch it, as we wait for 31st of May, 2019.
